Fuwairit Beach
Fuwairit Beach — Where the Sea Returns to Be Born Ninety kilometres north of Doha, powdery white sand meets shallow turquoise water along one of Qatar’s most remote shores. But Fuwairit’s real magic happens in summer: it is one of the country’s most important nesting grounds for the critically endangered hawksbill sea turtle, which return here each year to lay their eggs. Under the Ministry’s conservation programme, part of the beach is closed from April to August; in late summer, families can witness hatchlings being released into the sea . A home for wildlife, a haven for kitesurfers.
